Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2008128520A1] The invention relates to a method and a device for projecting an image made up of pixels onto a projection surface, comprising at least one variable-intensity light source emitting a light beam and a decoupling device after the fiber, and a connecting deflection device directing the light beam onto a projection surface. In the solution according to the invention, the light beam(s) (2) after a fiber decoupling unit (3) are deflected such that said beams strike mirror facets of the polygonal mirror (4) twice in a row. The diameter at which the beam (2) strikes the first mirror facet of the polygonal mirror (4) is adjusted such that it is dimensioned to practically not be cut by the facet edges. At the second strike, it is directed such that it always intersects the mirror facet at the same location. The deflection device essentially comprises a scanner unit (polygonal mirror), a lens, a suitable arrangement of deflecting mirrors, a shutter/shutter system and a galvanometer mirror, located appropriately for the requirements according to the method.
