[origin: EP2135667A1] The cavitator has a cavitator tube (1) comprising an inlet opening (3a) for supplying flow-through components, and an outlet opening (19) for discharging a mixture. Barrier bodies (8a, 8b) e.g. plate-shaped barrier bodies, lie in an inner space (1a) of the cavitator tube transverse along a main flow direction (10). Flow gaps are provided between outer edges of the barrier bodies and the cavitator tube. The cavitator tube is combinedly flanged in individual axial tube sections, which are a product inlet (2), a cavitation cone (3) and an axial feed-through (4).
