[origin: EP2136574A2] The device has a battery compartment (3) including a spring (5) for securing a battery (4) in the battery compartment, where the spring is manufactured from plastic and metal. The spring is covered by a housing (2) of the hearing device when the battery compartment is closed. The battery compartment is folded to the housing of the hearing device, where the battery is pressed against a side wall of the battery compartment lying opposite to the spring by tension of the spring. The spring includes a dual function for securing the battery.
