Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2008113658A1] The invention relates to a dimmable operating device for the combined operation of gas discharge lamps and semiconductor light sources, characterized in that, in the lower dimming range, only the semiconductor light sources are operated and, in the upper dimming range, only the gas discharge lamps are operated, and at the transition points in which the one type of light source is switched on or off, the other type of light source is simultaneously subjected to a power jump so that the human eye is able to recognize the transition point only with difficulty or not at all.
