[origin: EP2138286A2] The machine (1) i.e. slicer (2), has a supply chamber (6) for supplying food to be cut to a cutting device. A discharging chamber (7) discharges the cut food, and a housing (9) surrounds a cutting unit in all sides, where the housing has an opening (16) closed by a movable closing unit (17) in closed positions (20, 25) of the opening. A sealing device i.e. elastomer profile, closes a gap present between the closing unit and the housing in the closed positions of the opening. The sealing device is elastically deformable in a direction perpendicular to a longitudinal direction of the gap.
