[origin: EP2138374A2] The method involves sending a radio signal (F1,F2) from a transmitter (S1,S2) attached in or at the goods wagon (G). The radio signal is received from a receiver (E), which is a component of telematic equipment (T) of the goods wagon. The characteristic of the received radio signal is determined and characteristic of the variable of state is determined. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a telematic equipment for goods wagon in traffic; and (2) a goods wagon.
