Abstract (en)

The cylinder (12) has a heatable cylinder barrel (14) rotatably supported by cylinder covers (18), which comprise a distance from each other in a direction of a cylinder axis (16). A part of an outer circumferential surface of the barrel is exposed to an external load, which is partially caused by a pressure cap. The covers are inwardly displaced in a direction of the cylinder axis under maintaining a mutual distance based on two edges (20) of the barrel. The barrel has an annular chamber through which a heating medium i.e. vapor, flows. An independent claim is also included for a dryer arrangement comprising a cylinder.

Ein Zylinder, insbesondere Trockenzylinder einer BoostDryer-Einheit, umfasst einen insbesondere beheizbaren Zylindermantel, der über zwei in Richtung der Zylinderachse einen Abstand voneinander aufweisende Zylinderdeckel drehbar abgestützt ist. Dabei ist ein Teil der Außenumfangsfläche des Zylindermantels einer äußeren, zumindest teilweise insbesondere durch eine Druckhaube hervorgerufenen Belastung ausgesetzt ist. Die beiden Zylinderdeckel sind unter Aufrechterhaltung eines gegenseitigen Abstandes ausgehend von den beiden Rändern des Zylindermantels in Richtung der Zylinderachse jeweils nach innen versetzt.
