[origin: EP2138664A1] The sealing tape has a foam strip (2) comprising two transverse surfaces (8) connected to lateral surfaces (6). A foil-type wrapping (4) surrounds the foam strip, and holds a foam strip in a precompressed state. The transverse surface (8) of the foam strip is pressed against a strip-like element (10) that is arranged inside the wrapping, where the strip-like element provides resistance to bending in a transverse direction. The transverse surface (8) of the foam strip is arranged opposite to the former transverse surface, and is firmly connected to the foil-type wrapping. An independent claim is also included for a method for sealing a joint by a sealing tape.
