[origin: CA2687391A1] Disclosed is a sole cleaning machine, particularly for personnel locks in hygienic exclusion zones, comprising a wiping grid (4) composed of grate ba rs (5) as well as a trough (2) which is arranged underneath the wiping grid (4) and inside which two rotatably driven roll brushes (3) are mounted that engage between the grate bars (5) of the wiping grid (4) by means of the top circumferential areas (3.1) thereof. Said machine further comprises a wetti ng apparatus (7, 8) in the area of the trough (2) in order to apply water an d liquid cleaners for cleaning soles as well as a liquid discharging device (15) in the bottom region of the trough (2). In order to design such a sole cleaning machine which automatically cleans the interior of the trough inclu ding the roll brushes, a cleaning mechanism (12) for the roll brushes (3) an d the interior of the trough is additionally disposed in the area of the tro ugh (2), while a control device is provided that controls operation of the c leaning mechanism (12) and the wetting apparatus (7, 8).
