[origin: WO2008125363A2] Disclosed is a ski binding, particularly a freeride ski binding, comprising a boot fastening assembly (11) for fixing a ski boot that has a boot tip and a boot heel to a ski (12). The boot fastening assembly is hingedly connected to the ski (12) or a binding base so as to be pivotable about a swivel axis (A) extending transverse to the longitudinal axis of the ski (12) and encompasses front locking means (14) and rear locking means (15) which are interconnected by means of an intermediate support (16). The rear locking means (15) have at least one clamping area (53) which clampingly retains the heel of the ski boot in a locked position within the boot fastening assembly (11). When a force that is directed from the surface of the ski (12) to the rear locking means (15) is applied to the at least one clamping area (53), said at least one clamping area (53) causes the rear locking means (15) to be moved from the locked position into an open position such that the subsections of the rear locking means (15) which comprise the at least one clamping area (53) are swiveled about a second swivel axis (B). The disclosed ski binding is characterized that the subsections of the rear locking means (15) are swiveled from the locked position into the open position under the effect of a force that is applied within a compression volume (55) by means of at least two compressing devices (54) which thus determine the triggering force when the rear locking means (15) open as a result of a fall.
