[origin: WO2008129002A1] The present invention relates to an exciter machine comprising an auxiliary exciter machine (2, 3) and a fan (1). In order to achieve a compact design of the exciter machine, the fan (1) arranged on one side of the exciter machine comprises a carrier ring at the outer circumference thereof. Permanent magnets are arranged on the carrier ring for forming an auxiliary exciter rotor (2).
