[origin: WO2008131934A1] The invention relates to a method for retrieving, processing, and optically representing additional information for a current representation of electronic media or images and/or sounds, especially for a current television program. In said method, program information from the current program and/or from documented additional data on the program is evaluated, and supplementary information is retrieved from databases, a public data network, and/or other sources of information in accordance with the program information, is made available to the viewer as supplementary and/or additional information, and is optically and/or acoustically processed, the retrieved data for the additional information being linked to manually and/or automatically assigned metadata. The invention further relates to a corresponding system for retrieving, processing, and optically representing additional information for a current media representation. The invention finally relates to an additional apparatus which is to be connected to a media representing device, especially to a television set, is to be controlled using an input unit, particularly a remote control, and connects the representing device or the television set to the Internet. The additional apparatus makes individual and/or personalized offers to the user on the basis of the selected represented program or television program.
