Abstract (en)

[origin: EP2140978A1] The wrench has a V-shaped grooved impact mechanism including a hammer (20) that makes an axial movement relative to a drive shaft (22) during impact. The hammer has a set of impact cheeks (18) that are engaged with a set of impact cheeks (16) of an anvil (14) for rotational transmission. A spring (28) e.g. compression spring, produces impact energy and is alternately compressed and expanded by the axial movement of the hammer during impact. The spring has spring preload that is continuously or progressively adjustable by an adjusting unit (32).
