[origin: EP2141271A1] The device (1) has upper drawing elements (4, 5) arranged below a front needle bed (200), and lower drawing elements (4', 5') arranged below a rear needle bed (201). A knitted fabric (400) is clamped between the front and rear drawing elements in a friction-fit manner. The drawing elements are applied with adjustable force against the knitted fabric, and are moved from the fabric. Each drawing element is moved in and against drawing direction (D) of the knitted fabric. Movement of the drawing elements is controlled depending on control of needle movement of a flat knitting machine. An independent claim is also included for a method for drawing a knitted fabric in a flat knitting machine.
