Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2008131851A2] The invention relates to an apparatus and a method for starting a weaving device following an interruption of the weaving process, particularly following a standstill, by means of at least one control and/or regulation unit (3) for controlling a first driving motor (10) used for driving a weaving machine (1) and a second driving motor (20) used for driving a shedding machine (2). The control and/or regulation unit (3) starts the second driving motor (20) at a first starting time t1 while starting the first driving motor at a second starting time t2. The control and/or regulation unit (3) presets a weaving type for the shedding machine (2), and a time difference ?t between the second starting time t2 and the first starting time t1, starting kinematics of the first and/or the second driving motor (10, 20), and/or a preliminary shedding process is/are defined in accordance with at least one weaving type for a first weft thread that is to be fed following the interruption.
