[origin: GB2448505A] A flexible connector which is useful for coupling two bodies of a wave energy converter comprises a plurality of rigid discs 120 which are threaded on a tensioned cable 125. The discs 120 may be made from high density concrete, and the cable 125 may be stainless steel. Compressible discs 205, for example neoprene rubber discs, are placed between the rigid discs to allow flexing of the connector. The connector is stiff in tension and compression, but relatively flexible in bending, and is useful for connecting the floating 105 and submerged 110 bodies of a point absorber type of wave energy converter.
