[origin: EP2144011A2] The device (1) has a chimney arranged above a viewing hood (2), and an air outlet unit (4) that has a front wall, side surfaces and a cover. The air outlet unit is formed as a part of the chimney. A part of the front wall, the side surfaces and the cover is made of an air-permeable material (46) comprising a metal. The front wall, the side surfaces and the cover are formed as an integrated component. A filter material e.g. charcoal filter, is provided in the air outlet unit at an area of the air-permeable material.
