Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2008135072A1] The invention relates to a lighting device, particularly for background lighting of a liquid crystal panel (60), comprising a fiber optic element (12) delimited by a first main surface (14) and a second main surface (16) parallel to and spaced from said surface. Illuminants (28) are provided, which are located such that the light emitted by the illuminants (28) is coupled into the fiber optic element (12). A reflection device (53) is provided on the side of the second main surface (16) of the fiber optic element (12), reflecting light in a direction toward the interior of the fiber optic element (12). The invention further relates to a liquid crystal screen comprising a liquid crystal panel (60) and a lighting device (10, 10', 10'', 10'''), by means of which the liquid crystal panel (60) can have light applied to the side (64) thereof opposite a visible side (62). A lighting device (10, 10', 10'', 10''') according to any one of the claims 1 to 23 is provided for the liquid crystal screen.
