Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2008138299A1] The insulated cable connector (1) for producing cable fittings with self-holding, electrically insulating closure, for example for holding the ends of cables (2), has at least one longitudinally extending closure element (3) and an insulating body (9). The electrically conductive closure element (3) in this case comprises three sections (3.1, 3.2), of which a first outer section (3.1) is in the form of a terminal section (3.1) for holding a first cable core (2.1), and a second outer section (3.1) is in the form of a terminal section (3.1) for holding a second cable core (2.1). A central section (3.2) which extends between the two outer sections (3.1) is in the form of a holding section (3.2) for holding and locking the insulating body (9), wherein the holding section (3.2) has a smaller cross section than the terminal sections (3.1). The insulating body (9) which is arranged on the closure element (3) has at least one bead-like cross-section widened area (10) on its inside pointing to the closure element (3), which widened area engages in the closure element (3) at the level of the holding section (3.2) in order to position the insulating body (9) when the insulated cable connector (1) is in the assembled state.
