Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2008135399A1] The invention relates to a bulkhead device (22; 45) for a power distribution unit (17), having a bulkhead means for depositing a vertical cladding part (18; 19) of the power distribution unit equipped with ventilation openings (20), particularly a control panel door, wherein the bulkhead means is configured such that it ensures air flow through the ventilation openings (20) into the interior of the power distribution unit, or from the interior of the power distribution unit, under normal operating conditions, and covers the ventilation openings (20) in case of failure under the influence of a blast wave such that the blast wave and hot gases are significantly reduced and directed to the outside. In order to increase the stability of the bulkhead device to withstand mechanical damage, at least one pivot-mounted bulkhead baffle (25; 49) is provided as the bulkhead means between the side bulkheads (23, 24; 47, 48), the baffle being in an inclined position under normal operating conditions due to the dead weight thereof, and being transferable into a vertical position under the influence of the blast wave.
