The method involves detecting measuring value by a tilt sensor (14) provided at coupling elements of a railway connector (10). The measuring value indicates the vertical adjustment of the coupling element. The coupling condition of the railway connector is detected from the measuring value. An independent claim is included for a railway connector, which has vertically moving coupling elements.

Die Erfindung betrifft ein einfaches und zugleich vielseitig einsetzbares Verfahren zum Ermitteln des Kupplungszustands einer Eisenbahnkupplung (10) mit vertikal beweglichen Kupplungselementen (12,15-18), insbesondere einer Schraubenkupplung, bei dem erfindungsgemäß durch zumindest einen an oder in zumindest einem der Kupplungselemente (12,15-18) der Eisenbahnkupplung (10) vorgesehenen Neigungssensor (14) zumindest ein die vertikale Ausrichtung des Kupplungselementes (12,15-18) angebender Messwert erfasst wird und aus dem zumindest einen Messwert der Kupplungszustand der Eisenbahnkupplung (10) ermittelt wird. Die Erfindung betrifft des Weiteren eine Eisenbahnkupplung (10) sowie eine Anordnung mit einer Eisenbahnkupplung (10).
