[origin: EP2146020A1] The device has a pipe line (9) through which water flows by an edge termination (2) closing a surface (1) to be drained. The pipeline is switched to a side (13) of the edge termination in a vertical downpipe (19). An accumulation container (15) communicating with the downpipe is formed in a region of entry of the pipeline in the downpipe. An emergency discharge device is arranged in the accumulation container to discharge water such that water exceeds accumulation height in the container. The discharge device is drained as a pressure flow device with a vertical downpipe.
