Abstract (en)
[origin: EP2146400A1] The assembly (1) has an insert (2) provided with a front part (3) and a rear part (4). The front and rear parts are formed with longitudinal housings (7, 8), respectively. Press-fitted female contacts (9) have front portions equipped with collars (14) supported against mechanical stops (15) that are arranged in the longitudinal housings of the front part. The contacts have rear portions equipped with retaining units e.g. spears (18), such that the rear portions of the contacts are press-fitted in the coincident longitudinal housings of the rear part, respectively. An independent claim is also included for a method for assembling a connection assembly.
