[origin: FR2915791A1] The method involves cooling a mixture of hydrogen, carbon monoxide and methane in a main exchanger (3). A part of the mixture is transferred into a liquid carbon monoxide washing column (5). Vapor (7) e.g. hydrogen and carbon monoxide mixture, in a head of the column is removed. Liquid (11) is transferred from a tank to a carbon monoxide/methane separation column (33) after purification. Carbon monoxide rich liquid (47) at a head of the separation column is drawn and pressurized. A part of the liquid in head of the washing column is transferred. The methane rich liquid in the tank is drawn. An independent claim is also included for an apparatus for separating a mixture of hydrogen, carbon monoxide and methane.
