[origin: CA2685364A1] The invention relates to a carrying device (10) with an accommodation bod y (12) for accommodating a baby or a small child. The accommodation body (12 ) is constructed in such a way that the height thereof is adjustable and suc h that at least one region of the back of a baby or a small child can be acc ommodated and/or supported therein, thereby preventing the sinking or saggin g of the newborn. Because the carrying device (10) has a holding harness sys tem (40, 60) for fastening the accommodation body (12) to a person, and beca use the height of the accommodation body (12) is adjustable, sufficient supp ort for the back of the small child from birth up to the age of young child is ensured, as well as an orthopedically correct carrying manner for both th e young child and the wearer.
