[origin: WO2008138160A1] A clearing apparatus for clearing food residues, dishes, serviettes etc. from a serving tray is realized by a turning apparatus (13) for serving trays. The turning apparatus (13) ensures that the serving trays (24) are turned as they are transported on the conveyor belt, so that the waste falls into the collection hopper of a waste container which is arranged beneath the turning apparatus (13).
