[origin: EP2152026A2] The aid (10) has a controllable feedback suppression unit for suppressing acoustic feedbacks, an ultrasonic transmission unit (11) delivering ultrasonic signal and an ultrasonic receiving unit (12) receiving the ultrasonic signal. The ultrasonic transmission unit is designed and arranged in the aid in such a way that the feedback suppression unit is controllable by ultrasonic signal received by a microphone (2). A differentiation unit detects the modification of the received ultrasonic signal for the regulation of the feedback suppression unit. An independent claim is also included for a method for suppressing acoustic feedback in a hearing aid.
