Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2008135496A2] The invention relates to a method for the production of an adjusting unit for a motor vehicle used for adjusting a motor vehicle part, said method comprising the following process steps: providing at least one radiation source by means of which a laser beam usable for laser welding may be produced; provision of at least one housing part of the adjusting unit that is composed at least partially of a material that is not penetrable by the laser beam from the radiation source (non-transparent); providing at least one additional housing part of the adjusting unit that is composed at least partially of a material that is penetrable by the laser beam from the radiation source (transparent); disposing additional functional components of the adjusting unit on at least one of the housing parts such that said components are disposed in or on the housing comprised of said housing parts; connecting the housing parts in that the housing and the radiation source are positioned relative to one another such that laser beams emitted by said radiation source pass through a region of the housing that is penetrable by the beam to a region of the housing that is not penetrable by the beam (in other words, absorbing said beam), thus connecting two adjacent regions of the housing parts to one another and positioning the housing and the radiation source relative to one another such that the laser beam emitted by the radiation source passes through a region that is penetrable by the laser beam in to the interior of the housing, where said beam connects at least one functional component of the adjusting unit disposed in the housing to the housing.
