[origin: WO2008138320A1] The invention relates to a drive device for a machine comprising a drive shaft (13) that can be rotated about an axis (6), and two driving cranks (1, 2) which are connected to said shaft in an angularly rigid manner in relation to the axes thereof. According to the invention, in order to determine the torque applied to the drive shaft in a simple and economical manner, said drive device is provided with at least one magnetostrictive body (7, 9, 10, 17) connected to the driving cranks in a fixed manner, and a magnetic field sensor (11, 12, 18) for measuring the magnetic stray field of the magnetostrictive body.
