Abstract (en)

[origin: CA2684668A1] Disclosed is an apparatus for handling value documents (46). Said apparat us comprises at least one first device (32) encompassing a conveying path se ction (90) along which a value document is conveyed to and/or out of the fir st device (32) and/or into the first device (30), and at least one second de vice encompassing a conveying path section (58) along which a value document is conveyed to and/or out of the second device and/or into the second devic e. Said devices (30, 32) are arranged such that a value document can be conv eyed from the conveying path section of the first device into the conveying path section of the second device and/or from the conveying path section (90 ) of the second device into the conveying path section of the first device. The disclosed apparatus further comprises a couple of rolls (156, 158) each at a coupling end of the respective conveying path section, in a fixed posit ion relative to the respective conveying path section. The couple of rolls ( 156, 158) are mounted to be rotatable about a rotational shaft. A value docu ment is squeezed between the rolls (160, 160') of said couple of rolls (156, 158) when the value document is conveyed. The rolls have a cam-type structu re from a sectional view through the rotational shaft (156, 158). The couple s of rolls are disposed and designed such thatthe rolls of a first (156) of the couples of rolls and the corresponding rolls of a second (158) of the co uples of rolls mesh with each other in the coupled position.
