[origin: EP2154430A1] The device has a signal processing circuit (3) comprising an operational amplifier (IC1). An ionization electrode (2) is attached to a voltage source (S) e.g. transformer, that generates an alternating voltage (25), which is galvanically separated from an energy supply (13) of the source. The voltage is activated so that an ionization current (26) flows with a direct current component from the electrode to the amplifier by a flame (1). The amplifier amplifies the current or the component that flows to the electrode through the source and forms a closed electric circuit with the flame.
