Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2008148504A2] The invention relates to a method for isolating hydrogen by means of a dissociation process as well as a dissociating apparatus according to the preamble of claims 1 and 11. In order to be able to produce or isolate hydrogen in a structurally compact and thus efficient manner such that the hydrogen can be produced in a mobile fashion and/or where needed, water and/or steam and/or a gas-water mixture and/or a biogas-water mixture is/are introduced into a reaction chamber, whereupon electromagnetic power in the microwave range is applied thereto, the ions are separated by means of an electric field, and hydrogen is withdrawn in the area of an electrode.
