Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2009004201A1] The strap pipe wrench (10) of the invention includes a shaft (12); a strap (15), a connection member (28) mobile relative to the shaft (12), means (30, 40, 46) for displacing said member, the shaft being provided with a bearing pad (18) on said object. The member is mobile between at least a first position corresponding to a loose strap position and a second position corresponding to a tensioned strap position tightly surrounding the object bearing on the pad (18), while the movement means include: blocking means for maintaining said member in a fixed position relative to the shaft (12) in the first position of said member; an elastic member (46) that urges said member towards the second position; and a control member (30, 40, 56) for deactivating said members.
