[origin: WO2008135276A2] The invention relates to an assembly and a method for the three-dimensional distribution of light in a liquid medium such as an algae suspension and/or for the production of biomass. Light, in particular sunlight, is conducted in a container filled with the medium, by means of fibre optics. The light is distributed three-dimensionally in the container. To achieve this, the fibre optics terminate in different areas inside the container. Alternatively or in addition, the light is introduced via gas bubbles, said gas being supplied in particular via hollow fibre optics.
