[origin: EP2157358A2] The lighting device (1) comprises a semiconductor light source (2) and a carrier element (4) for carrying the semiconductor light source. The semiconductor light source is electrically separated from the carrier element by an insulation body (3), which comprises multiple plastic compound layers or multiple ceramic layers. A cavity (6) is provided, which is formed by a transparent cover (5) and the carrier element for receiving the semiconductor light source.
