[origin: WO2008151827A1] The invention relates to a reusable, self-inflating umbrella, comprising an inflatable cover (11) made of a flexible material and an inflating mechanism (12). The interior of the cover (11) can be connected to the inflating mechanism (12) by a gaseous substance being created by a chemical reaction. The gaseous substance then inflates the interior of the cover (11). The chemical reaction may comprise a soda granulate being dissolved in citric acid. The citric acid may be accommodated in a container that is caused to rupture by the application of pressure to the outside of the inflating mechanism (12) by a user such that the chemical reaction is triggered as a result.
