Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2008151943A1] The invention relates to a doctor blade device for dosing and/or equalizing a liquid to paste-like application medium (7) applied to a transfer element (2), wherein the transfer element (2), for example, an application roller (3) or a continuous belt, transfers the application medium (7) to a paper, cardboard, or other fibrous material web (10) tangential to the transfer element (2), having a doctor blade holder (5) clamped in a fastener (4), the doctor blade holder having a groove (5.3) n which the rotating, cylindrical doctor bar (6) is accommodated, wherein the doctor blade holder (5), and therefore the doctor bar (6), is placed and/or pressed against the transfer element (2). The invention provides for a vaporization unit (11) to be provided, by means of which vapor steam jets (12) can be selectively directed to the exterior circumference (6.1) of the doctor bar (6) or to the surface (5.6) of the doctor blade holder (5), thus avoiding the so-called bar sputtering (8) and deposits (9) of the application medium (7) on the doctor blade holder (5).
