[origin: WO2008145641A1] The invention relates to a rail vehicle having a car body (102) and a first chassis (103) which has at least one first wheel unit (105) with two wheels coupled for rotation speed, wherein the car body (102) has a longitudinal axis (102.1), a transversal axis (102.2), and a vertical axis (102.3), and the car body (102) is supported by a spring stage (104) directly on the first wheel unit (105), wherein the first wheel unit (105) is connected to the car body (102) via a shift unit (108). The shift unit (108) is designed in such a manner that if a wheel of the first wheel unit (105) is deflected in the direction of the longitudinal axis (102.1) of the car body (102), the shift unit (108) causes the first wheel unit (105) to undergo a shift movement about a shift axis running in the direction of the vertical axis (102.3).
