Abstract (en)

[origin: EP2006423A1] The device (1) has a conveying device placed on a base of a hopper (8) to convey a material strip (3) in backward conveying direction (4) via an opening (14) and into a machine. A knife (15) is placed on an upper edge (26) of the opening, and includes a blade that undergoes a reciprocating movement perpendicular to the direction so as to cut the material conveyed into the opening for forming an upper surface and for adjusting thickness of the strip. Excess of material, which is cut, is directed into a material mass (2). A balancing device balances the movement of the blade.
