Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2009013414A2] The invention relates to an automatic safety lock for a roller shutter including an apron with hinged slats, designed to be wound around a winding tube (2) having an octagonal cross-section and actuated by a control system. The lock includes at least a tube link (3) secured to the winding tube and an apron link (4) to which the upper slat of the apron is hinged. The tube and apron links are connected by a hinge system capable of causing the links to butt against one another when the apron is fully deployed, the rotation of the winding tube being stopped by the control system. The tube link (3) has a dihedral inner surface with two flat faces forming an angle equal to that formed between two successive sides of a straight section of the tube, such that the faces of the dihedron can be applied against the tube regardless of the diameter thereof, and at least one adjustable tightening means (S, 13) capable of winding the tube is provided to apply the tube link (3) against the winding tube (2).
