[origin: WO2008155263A1] The invention relates to a condensation tumble dryer (1) having a drying chamber (3) for the objects to be dried, a process air channel (2), in which a heater (18) is located for heating the process air and by means of which the heated process air can be guided to the objects to be dried via a fan (19), an air-to-air heat exchanger (11, 12), a heat pump circuit (13, 14, 15) having an evaporator (13), a compressor (14), and a condenser (15), at least one condensate collection vessel (21, 25), a condensate pump (16), a condensate drain (28), and a first line (22) leading from the condensate pump (16) to the condensate drain (28), wherein a second line (23) branches off the first line (22), the second line opening in the process air channel (2) between the drying chamber (3) and the air-to-air heat exchanger (11, 12). The invention further relates to a method for the operation of the said condensation tumble dryer (1).
