Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2008151960A1] The invention relates to a method for producing a paper web that is smooth on one side by means of a machine comprising a forming area (14), a press area (16), and a drying area (18), the paper web (12) to be produced being taken up by means of a water-absorbent first press felt (20) of the forming area and guided, together with the first press felt (20) and an at least substantially non-water-absorbent smooth transfer belt (26), through a first press nip (28) associated with the press area (16). The first press felt (20) is guided away from the paper web (12) directly after the first press nip (28), while the paper web (12) is guided away from the first press nip (28) together with the smooth transfer belt (26). The paper web (12) is subsequently taken up from the smooth transfer belt (26) by means of a particularly conditioned, water-absorbent second press felt (30) that is not guided through the first press nip (28) and subsequently, along with the second press felt (30), guided through a second press nip (32) associated with the drying area (18). The invention further relates to a corresponding machine for producing a paper web that is smooth on one side.
