Abstract (en)
A lubricant comprises (A) an oil of lubricating viscosity; (B) as an additive component, an oil-soluble zinc salt of a dithiophosphoric acid, the acid being obtainable by reacting phosphorus pentasulfide with a mixture of at least one first alcohol, and at least one second alcohol, the first alcohol having the formula ROH where R is an aliphatic hydrocarbyl group having at least four carbon atoms or is an aralkyl group, and the second alcohol being an ester of a polyhydric alcohol; and (C) as an additive component, an oil-soluble molybdenum compound having a di- or trinuclear molybdenum- and sulfur-containing core.
