Abstract (en)

[origin: EP2161415A2] The turbine has two delimiting parts (1, 2) attached to each other to form a joint (3) e.g. butt joint or cross joint, and enclosing a part of a pressure chamber. A shielding element (5) i.e. split seal, is provided on a side facing towards the pressure chamber, and is arranged against the delimiting parts to cover the joint and to form a cavity (6) between the delimiting parts and the shielding element. A line is routed into the cavity and connected to another pressure chamber. A set of flow restrictors controls a pressure level within the line, a preheating line and a cooling steam line. An independent claim is also included for a method for decreasing a force acting on a joint and for reducing attachment forces acting on the joint.
