Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2009007660A1] The invention relates to the field of pharmaceuticals, dietary supplements and food and, more specifically, to the field of dietary supplements intended for the treatment of degradation of cartilage of any origin. The invention relates to liquid or paste compositions based on glucosamin and chondroitin sulphate, intended to provide elements essential for the synthesis and formation of proteoglycans, in which the chondroitin sulphate/glucosamin combination is stabilised with the addition of carboxylic acids such that the pH of the medium is between 2 and 5 and the chemical degradation rate of the active substances is less than 10 % when stored at 25 °C and 60 % relative humidity for 10 months for doses of between 300 and 2400 mg chondroitin sulphate and between 500 and 3000 mg glucosamin. The invention is suitable for the treatment of cartilage degradation and, more specifically, arthrosis.
