[origin: WO2008119403A1] The invention relates to a device (1) for fastening a light fixture to a ceiling or wall, said device (1) having a holder (2) for fastening the light fixture to the ceiling or the wall and a cover (3) for covering the holder (2). A magnetic holding device, which can have a permanent magnet (4) and a corresponding counter element, serves for making the detachable connection between the cover (3) and the holder (2). The counter element can, for example, be configured as part of the cover (3), which can consist of metal for this purpose. Due to the magnetic holding device, it is possible during the installation of the light fixture to place the cover particularly easily and quickly on the holding device. Removal of the cover is also possible particularly easily and quickly. An auxiliary tool is not required. Furthermore, the cover can be configured in such a way that, in the installed state, no screw or the like is visible.
