[origin: WO2009007430A1] The invention relates to a device for controlling the flow rate of a gaseous fluid. This device (10) comprises an axisymmetric envelope (50), which can deform between a maximum opening section and a minimum opening section, and is characterized in that it comprises, upstream of the envelope (50), at least one lateral expansion chamber (70), for example a chamber defined by two spaced-apart transverse partitions, namely an upstream partition (66) and a downstream partition (64) respectively, connected together by a longitudinal lateral partition (68). This device is used to control the flow rate of a gaseous fluid having a high speed, in particular at least 10 metres per second, at the inlet of the device and to minimize both turbulence and noise, whilst still delivering a substantially or essentially unidirectional jet of gaseous fluid.
