[origin: WO2009013433A2] The invention relates to the use of at least one compound selected from among N-(1-octyl-5-carboxymethyl-4,6-dimethylindolin-7-yl)-2,2-dimethylpropanamide (pactimibe) having formula (I), the pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof and the pharmaceutically acceptable solvates of same, for the preparation of a drug intended to prevent or treat a disorder caused by a sebaceous gland dysfunction in humans or animals, such as acne and/or any condition or disorder linked to an overproduction of sebum, for example seborrheic dermatitis, oily skin or oily scalp.
