Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2009013172A1] In order to make available a method for statistically checking a brake system (1), having a plurality of types of brake, of a vehicle, wherein the brake system (1) comprises a brake control unit (6a, 6b, IIa), brake means (2, 5) with brake components, operator control elements (6) for triggering the brake means (2, 5) and signal lines (8) for transmitting data, in which method a brake test control unit (12) transfers at least one of the brake components from an initial state into an actual state by means of an actuation signal, wherein the state of the brake components is sensed by a measuring sensor (26, 37) by acquiring status data, the status data being transmitted to the brake test control unit (12), and the brake test control unit (12) checking the actual status data for a fault condition using an internal logic, which method comprises comprehensive testing of all the components which are involved in a braking operation, it is proposed that operator control elements (6) and signal lines (8) are also checked for the presence of a fault condition.
