[origin: EP2168792A1] The system has an extracting and/or supplying device (16) for extracting air (18) from a driving cab (22) or cargo compartment of a motor vehicle (10) and for supplying extracted air to an electronic control unit (14). The system has a cooling mode, in which the air, which is taken from the driving cab and/or cargo and supplied to the electronic control unit is not again supplied to the driving cab and/or cargo. The electronic control unit is arranged to a chassis leg or a drive train (12) of the motor vehicle. The extracting and/or supplying device has an air duct (24) with a blower (26). An independent claim is also included for a method for cooling an electronic control unit of a motor vehicle.
